Seeds so many seeds
I went nuts and bought a ton of seeds.
I technically don't have the yard space for all the seeds that I got but they were really good prices. All the heirloom seeds that I was thinking of getting.
The List o'Doom:
Tom Thumb Garden Pea
Oyster Leaf
Basil - Blue Spice
Flat of Italy Onion
Riesentraube Tomato
Mammoth Grey - Sunflower
Ishikura Onion
Hokkaido Black - Soya Bean
Bridal Silk Poppy
Minibel Tomato
Black Peony - Poppy
Russian Black Seeded Sunflower
Garlic Chives
German Chamomile
Yellow onions
White Lisbon Onion
Walla Walla Sweet Onion
Black Pansy
Johnny Jump-Up Viola
Rocky Mountain Blue Columbine
Blue Butterfly Peas
Blue Lilly/Lotus
This... is a lot of seeds for a house that has no land. XD I also got a pair of tiny Fig trees, a tiny Bay Leaf tree and a tiny Sweet Olive tree. I am so allergic to the Sweet Olive.
A Lemon tree would be last tree that I would get, but they are a bit pricey if I want a good one. I also live in the middle of gods country so that hikes the price up also.
I know I can grow most all of this in containers. I have a lot from when I lived with my parents and I am going to test some reusable cloth pots. I also need to get at least one more seed starting tray. It's not that compacted pellet one. I can't stand them. This is one that you put soil in. I also got a few of the tiny bio pots to see if I like them.
The Blue Lilly/Lotus was an impulse buy. I have no pond nor space for a pond. I am really hoping that they would like being in an aquarium. Assuming I can get any to grow. Did I mention that I am realy bad at getting things to grow from seeds? Yeah...
I might have gone a bit overboard. Oh well. I have a high plant kill rate and I can save seeds for next year.

Utilities
Ah... Utilities. The things that make the house go. People say you have to watch them. They also imply that you can get them cheap.
Currently my monthly bill for gas and electricity is almost $100.
EACH.
It... was implied that the bills were not that high when my mom spoke to the utilities companies. I was learning new stuff at work and had no time and she was on vacation and had all the time. I am terrified what my water bill might be.
I will point out that I was not even fully moved in when I got the first bills. So that was based on an empty house using only the base utilities to keep the boiler, water tank and fridge running.
On my list is to start finding replacements for the boiler and the water heater. The boiler could last a few more years but I need to have a 'just in case' cushion. The thing is older then I am so possibly not the most gas efficient. I'll have to see
The hot water tank has an energy star sticker on it and when I did the math... it's about $45 a month. So eventually I want to replace it with a heat-as-you-need style.
And a quick search has just led me to the revelation that I can get a boiler and on demand water heater combo. This... is perfect. It's save on space as well. I just need to save a little extra and then contact the local appliance guy to see if it's something he can install.
I will probably give my current set up a year to see how badly I need to replace them. But it is so nice that there are better options out there.
